Only a month away from school starting, and it is very important for parents to visit with their children about all the school activities available to them. This is especially true for socioeconomically disadvantaged students. Why is it important for students to join the sports teams, band, or other happenings within the school setting?

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.68 billion in June, 16.4 percent more than in June 2021. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.

Dear Editor: On Saturday, June 18, we kicked off the Juneteenth celebration with our annual parade. We had food, cold drinks, and games along with music and softball.

I look back over my coaching career and see so many things I would do differently now. Many coaches go to extremes to motivate their team. In 1989, I did exactly that while coaching at Ft. Scott Community College.

June 10: The Terrell State Hospital Volunteer Services Council’s third annual Patient Art Show and Silent Auction will take place June 10 from 6-8:30 p.m. at The Shops at Terrell located at 301 Tanger Drive.
