John Heir 1917-2015

John (Bubba) Henry Heir, 98, was peacefully called home by his Lord and Savior Nov. 18, 2015. He was born Sept. 24, 1917, on a farm outside of Wills Point to Mary and Claude Heir.

Mr. Heir grew up planting crops, picking cotton and milking cows. He met his childhood sweetheart Leota (Lea) Chambless when she was 8 and he was 11, and they walked hand-in-hand to a one room school house each day.

After graduating from Wills Point High School, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years, building bridges, roads and parks across Texas.

Jean Cathey 1928-2015

Jean Cathey, 87, of Quinlan went to be with her Lord and Savior Nov. 24, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services celebrating her life was held Nov. 29, 2015, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Judge Hershey Barnett officiating. Interment was at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.

She was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Amity, Ark.

She is the daughter of the late Stala Rabjohn and Nancy Burke Rabjohn. She was raised in Trenton and graduated from high school in 1946.

James Hardy 1927-2015

 

Funeral services for James Barnett Hardy, 88, of Longview, formerly of Wills Point were held Nov. 30, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Tim Mabe and Bro. Matt Ward officiating.  Interment was at Locust Grove Cemetery south of Wills Point.

Mr. Hardy passed from this life into the gates of Heaven, Nov. 26, 2015, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.  He was surrounded by the family he loved so much.

He was born April 21, 1927, in the Hiram community south of Wills Point, the son of Eldridge Franklin Hardy, Jr. and Junia Mae Barnett Hardy.  He was raised in Hiram and in 1944 he graduated from Wills Point High School.

Ethel Elliott 1933-2015

Funeral services for Ethel Estell Barker Elliott, 82, of Fort Worth, formerly of Wills Point, were held Dec. 2, 2015, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. 

Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood.

Mrs. Elliott died Nov. 28, 2015, in Fort Worth.

Chester McDonald 1945-2015

Funeral services for Chester “C.F.” McDonald, 70, of Wills Point, were held Nov. 29, 2015, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial followed at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point.

Mr. McDonald died Nov. 24, 2015, in Grand Saline.

He was born Oct. 23, 1945, in Greenville to parents, Chester McDonald and Francis Juanita Duncan.

Dean Tardy 1956-2015

Memorial services for Dean Abner Tardy, 59, of Edgewood, was held Nov. 24, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Larry DeLong officiating.

He died early Sunday morning, Nov. 22, 2015, in Grand Saline.

She died Nov. 15, 2015, in Canton.

Wilma Mondy 1926-2015

Graveside service for Wilma Faye Mondy, 89, of Wills Point, were held Nov. 23, 2015, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Services were under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. She took her last breath early Thursday morning, Nov. 19, 2015, at her residence in Wills Point. She was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Forestburg, the daughter of Elbert King Nethery and Sarah Jane Barclay Nethery.

Zane Dixon

Funeral services for Zane Daniel Dixon, 3 days, of Point, is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at

noon at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point.  Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Zane was born Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, in Sulphur Springs.

Family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point on Friday two hours prior to service.

Terry Byers 1943-2015

Beloved father and brother, Terry Byers, 72, passed on to Glory from his home Oct. 19, 2015.

Mr. Byers was born in Weatherford June 11, 1943, and lived a very colorful and restless life as vagabond and Jack-of- all-Trades, in and out of the United States. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Scarbrough of Smiley, Patricia Whitehead of San Bernadino, Calif. and Theresa Byers also of San Bernadino, Calif.; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeannie Thomas, of Vernon and Freddy Nicol of Wills Point.
Memorial services will be held in Smiley at the discretion of his daughter, Cindy.
