​​​​​​​Annell Rushing 1931-2018

Funeral services for Annell Rushing, 87, of Wills Point, were held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Travis Norrell, Rev. Johnnie Herriage and Rev. Owen Rushing officiating. Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point. She passed away Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 31, 2018, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Blue Ridge, the daughter of Johnnie Columbis White and Alta Vernetta Dunn White.

She was raised in Blue Ridge and graduated from Blue Ridge High School. On Sept. 9, 1949, she married James Charlie Rushing in Pleasant Grove. 

She was formerly employed as a baker for Tom Thumb in Richardson, retiring in 2006. After retirement, they moved to Wills Point. 

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of Hayden Baptist Church, south of Wills Point.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Alta White; infant sister; two brothers, Willie Rhea White and James Lee White; great-grandson, Hunter Cunningham and a nephew, Rhea Edward White.

She is survived by husband, James C. Rushing, of Wills Point; son, Bruce Rushing and wife, Stacey, of Wills Point; daughter, Terri Glover and husband, Roger, of Wills Point; two brothers-in-law, Edwin Rushing and wife, Joyce, of McKinney and Owen Rushing and wife, Frances, of Farmersville; two sisters-in-law, Sue White, of Blue Ridge and Annie Ruth Worley and husband, James, of Tyler; nine grandchildren, Chris Rushing, John Rushing, Matthew Rushing, Whitney Cunningham, Mike Zekert, Cody Glover, Heather Ripley, Rebecca Zekert and Johnathan Zekert; seven great-grandchildren, Ginny Cunningham, Chase Ripley, Hannah Ripley, Bailey Ripley, Avery Glover, Evelyn Zekert and Miles Zekert.

Pallbearers were Cody Glover, John Rushing, Chris Rushing, Matthew Rushing, Keith White and Mike Zekert.
