Lady Tigers down Caddo Mills in four

The Wills Point Lady Tigers scored an impressive four-set win over Caddo Mills on the road Aug. 21.




The Wills Point Lady Tigers stayed close to home Aug. 17-18, welcoming 15 other programs to town to compete at this year's Hardman-Watson Invitational Tournament.

The Tigers hit the court three times on the first day of the tournament for pool play, going 2-1 overall with wins over both Grand Saline and Cross Roads and a three-set loss to Greenville.

With their performance, the Lady Tigers and Lady Lions each advanced to compete in the Championship Bracket Aug. 18 alongside Commerce, Texas High, Tatum, Rains, North Forney and Sulphur Springs.

The Lady Tigers played their championship bracket contest against Gold Pool leader Sulphur Springs falling 26-24, 25-19 to the Lady Cats.

Wills Point returned to action Aug. 21, bouncing back to score a four-set victory over a talented Caddo Mills squad on the road.

The Lady Tigers easily took care of Caddo Mills in the first set of the contest, outpacing the Lady Foxes 25-14. Caddo Mills fought back to even the match at one set each by taking the second 25-22 before Wills Point closed out the night by topping the Lady Foxes 25-19 in both the third and fourth sets.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to compete in their final tournament of the year Aug. 23 and 25 when they head to Kerens. Additionally, Wills Point is scheduled to hit the road Aug. 24 for a contest in Royse City.
