Powerlifters compete Commerce event

 

 

Wills Point Tiger boys and girls powerlifters traveled to Commerce Feb. 16-17 to compete in this year's Raising the Bar Invitational. Each team performed well at the event with the varsity boys team finishing fourth overall out of 16 competing teams and the varsity girls team placing sixth out of 18 competing teams.

Individual boys results included:

-132 lb. weight class: Austin Caldwell, second place, 945 lbs. lifted

-148 lb. weight class: Nolan Knisley, bombed out

-181 lb. weight class: Josh Hull, second place, 1150 lbs. lifted

-242 lb. weight class: Juan Martinez, third place, 1205 lbs. lifted

-275 lb. weight class: Cammeron Penney, sixth place, 1145 lbs. lifted; Jacob Gonzales, seventh place, 1120 lbs. lifted

Boys lifters will compete again at the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Malakoff March 2.

Individual girls results included:

-105 lb. weight class: Kimberlie Lumsden, second place, 410 lbs. lifted; Alexa Morones, third place, 390 lbs. lifted

-114 lb. weight class: Kaylee King, bombed out

-148 lb. weight class: Olivia McMath, second place, 715 lbs. lifted; Brodelyn McCormick, 10th place, 485 lbs. lifted; Angela Cervantes, 15th place, 395 lbs. lifted

-181 lb. weight class: Graana Santiago, 10th place, 380 lbs. lifted

-198 lb. weight class: Cobi Davis, third place, 615 lbs. lifted
