Cross country teams finish fourth

The Wills Point cross country teams competed at the Midlothian Invitational Sept. 7, finishing fourth overall in both the varsity girls and varsity boys divisions.

Hannah Sauceda led the girls with a fourth-place individual finish with a time of 13:23, followed by Leslie Gonzalez in 14:36, Brisa Carrillo in 15:30, KK King in 15:39, Allison Wolfe in 15:58, and Liz Cockerham in 16:44.

Leading the way for the JV girls was Natalee Darst with a time of 16:39, Cheyenne Willis in 17:00, Jaylee Phillips in 17:15, Kimberlie Lumsden in 17:37, and Makayla Gassman in 19:16.

Cole Williams led the boys with a 12th place individual finish with a time of 18:17. Williams was followed by Cade Davis in 18:43, Aidan Phillips in 18:49, Edwin Figueroa in 19:45 and Xavier Torres in 20:06.

Leading the team for the JV boys was Gerardo Gonzalez with a time of 21:18, followed by Avery Barnes in 22:29, Justin Palmer in 23:02, Clayton Holman in 23:15, Jorge Mireles in 23:22, Luis Ortiz in 23:44, Ricardo Gomez in 27:31, and Christian Aquino in 28:52.

The Tiger cross country time will stay within the confines of Van Zandt County Sept. 23, competing at the Canton Invitational Cross Country Meet.
