Tiger Band holds first full practice

some WPISD students may be clinging hard to the final weeks of summer, members of the Tiger Band are already at work on both the practice field and in the classroom to ensure that the 2017-’18 school year will be another successful one for the acclaimed program. Coming off a year in which the program finished fourth overall at the UIL 4A State Marching Contest, Tiger Band members will once again tackle a heavy workload.

October will be the Tiger Band’s busiest month with competitions and contests scheduled to include: the Mesquite and Sunnyvale Contests Oct. 7, the Mineola Contest Oct. 9, the Princeton Contest Oct. 14 and the UIL Contest Oct. 25. The spring will also be packed with events, including the All-Region Contest, the UIL Concert Contest and a band trip to Branson, MO.
