Funeral services for Anna Jean Allred, 89, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright officiating.


Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Allred passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, in Wills Point.

She was born March 13, 1928, in Wills Point to Carl Russell Curtis and Henrietta Lindhorst Curtis.


She was a lifelong resident of Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1944.  She also graduated from T.C.U. and T.W.U., where she received her master’s degree. 


She was married to William Benjamin Wright, Jr. and later married William Ike Allred.  She was formerly employed as a drug counselor by the State of Texas in Dallas, retiring in 1990 at the age of 62.


She enjoyed reading, playing games on the computer, traveling and taking care of her dog, Cinnamon.  She was a member of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Henrietta Curtis; two husbands, William Benjamin Wright, Jr. and William Ike Allred, and a sister, Mary Horton.


Survivors include her sons, Michael Wright of Greece, Terry Wright and wife, Linda, of Bossier City, La., and Brian Wright and wife, Kay, of Rowlett; five grandchildren, Shannon Wright and wife, Cheryl, Brad Wright, Wade Wright, Jessica Dye, Erica Kinsella and husband, Andrew; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Terry Wright, Brian Wright, Brad Wright, Shannon Wright, R.M. Liston, Butch Taylor and Roger Taylor.
