Memorial services for Jo Munns, 93, of Wills Point, were held Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Wills Point Church of Christ with Mr. Dan Carter and Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. 

Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home. Mrs. Munns passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, in Wills Point.

She was born May 19, 1923, in Sweetwater to Mathew Hines Hendley and Bertha Myrtle Carter Hendley. She was raised in Sweetwater where she attended public school. She married Cecil Elbert Munns March 22, 1946, in Rockwall. She lived in Pleasant Grove before moving to Wills Point in the early 1960s. She was formerly employed by Southwestern Bell, Western Electric and was owner-operator of Countrymen’s Café in Wills Point. She was a member of the Wills Point Church of Christ.

She enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, spending time with her grandchildren and family and keeping her house clean.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mathew and Bertha Hendley; husband, Elbert Munns, February 18, 1990; son, Tommy Munns, March 11, 2010; three brothers, Carter Hendley, LaRue Hendley and Wardo Hendley; sister, Dolores Knight; and granddaughter, Jessica Brooke Munns.

Survivors include her daughter, Shelley Munns of Wills Point; brother, Dan Hendley and wife, Pat of Canton; sister, Norma Holt and husband, Bob, of Terrell; sister-in-law, Betty Hendley of Wills Point; five grandchildren, Heather Scott, Shannon Hendrick, Tiffany Gervin, Chaes Munns and Ethan Munns; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, K’lee, Taryn, Luke, Jack, Avery and Madison; six great-great grandchildren, Preslee, Jayce, Avelynne,  Bryleena, Noah and Tristan; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
