Theater Department trunk or treat deadline approaching

The WPHS Theater Department is putting the final touches on a new Halloween event, planning their first ever Trunk or Treat event to be held at the high school parking lot Oct. 22 from 6-9 p.m.

Organizers behind the event advised the community to “Get your costume on and come join the fun! All clubs, Organizations and local businesses are welcome to enter their ‘Trunk.’ This year’s theme is The Nightmare Before Christmas and festivities are targeted for kids up to 12 years old.”

The deadline to enter has been set for Thursday, Oct. 19.

Jamie Keeler, head of the WPHS Theater Department, stated, “This is a fundraiser for whoever wants to sell things at the event but they do not have to. We [the theater department) are selling Jack Skellington cookies in hopes of breaking even from the candy and decorations spent. The point is to have a fun celebration with the community. Each of the organizations and businesses pay a $5 entry fee for each trunk entered and the winners of the best decorated trunk gets the entry fees from everyone so technically it'll be a fundraiser for whoever wins.”
