WPMS among Tanger Outlet Center grant recipients

Wills Point Middle School, represented by teacher Jami Johnson, accepted a grant of $1,500 from the TangerKIDS Grants program May 12. The grant received by WPMS will be benefit the school for the 2016-'17 school year.

Tanger Outlet Center Terrell was excited to announce three individual schools in the Terrell Area as this year’s recipients of a TangerKIDS Grant. In keeping with Tanger Outlets’ mission to support the future of our children, the TangerKIDS Grants program is designed to award grant money to local schools in the communities where Tanger Outlet Centers are located.

Grants awarded May 12 will benefit schools for the 2016-2017 school year. This year’s recipients in the Terrell Area are:

-W. H. Burnett Elementary – Terrell, TX

-Wills Point Middle School – Wills Point, TX

-Kaufman High School – Kaufman, TX

For every coupon book sold, Tanger has earmarked one dollar for the TangerKIDS Grants program. Funding for TangerKIDS Grants ranges from $3,000 to $7,500 per center and may be split between multiple grant requests.

Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tanger Outlets. “A high quality education is instrumental to enhancing communities and we are proud to once again give back to these remarkable schools in the Terrell, Texas Area as part of our efforts to support students and educators across the country.”

The TangerKIDS Grants program is designed to assist schools in Tanger Outlets’ primary markets by providing grants for special projects, needed programs or equipment. Grants can also support groups within schools of all grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12. These grants are offered to multiple schools at each of Tanger’s 42 centers in the United States.

Since the company’s inception, Tanger has dedicated efforts to assist students in local communities from pre-school through high school by raising money that is used to purchase books and supplies, computers and new technology, athletic and playground equipment, and to fund reading programs and educational field trips in addition to many other important educational projects. To date, Tanger Outlets has raised and donated in excess of $540,000 since 2012 to help children and schools succeed.
