James Vernon Brazel, of Canton, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Athens, at the age of 75.
James was born Dec. 31, 1944, to Bessie and Carl Brazel in Dallas. He spent most of his younger years in Carrollton, moving to Canton 12 years ago. James served in the Army under Airborne Troopers receiving his Parachutist Badge in 1964. He married his loving wife, Cynthia Rose, on May 26, 2006, in Lufkin. James enjoyed fishing, gambling, and working.
To cherish his memories, he leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Brazel of Canton; daughter, Brenda; sons, Joey and Bubba; brother, Ellis Carl Brazel; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
James is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patsy Ruth, Brenda Joyce, Betty Jean and Johnny Beatrice; and brother, Tommy Brazel.
Funeral service was privately held Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home.
Due to restrictions for visitation, only 10 people were allowed in the funeral home at one time during the hours of visitation. The funeral service was privately held for the family only.
Arrangements were under the care of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
