Funeral services for Everett Marshall “Buddy” Hill, 77, of Edgewood, were held Friday, March 8, 2019, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Butch Cunningham and Bro. Robert Brown officiating. Interment was at Small Cemetery, north of Edgewood. He passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at his residence in Edgewood.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1942, in Mineola, the son of Elmer Ernest Hill and Charlene Beatrice Alexander Hill. He was raised in Mineola, where he attended public school.
On Jan. 26, 1963, he married his bride, Corine Lee, in Edgewood. He was formerly employed by LTV-Vought Aeronautics in Grand Prairie, retiring in 1997.
After retirement, he became a full-time husband, father, grandfather and all-around problem solver. He lived in Mineola prior to moving to Edgewood in 1973.
In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He was a very faithful Christian who loved God very much.
He always placed God first in his life with his family a very close second. Whenever he was asked about anything he would always say, “It doesn’t matter, as long as I have my three girls, I’m happy”.
At night, when it was time to go to bed, he made sure the four of us held hands beside the bed to pray God’s blessings, healing and His will in our life. He was the perfect example of what a husband and father should be.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Charlene Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Corine Hill, of Edgewood; two daughters, Brenda Clemmons and husband, Bobby, of Edgewood, and Donna Fields and husband, Jeff Petty, of Edgewood; two brothers, Butch Hill and wife, Ann, of Mineola and Billy Hill and wife, Mary, of Mineola; four grandsons, Brian Fields and wife, Fa’Lisha, of Haslet, David Fields and fiancée, Whitney Eggeling, of Edgewood, Cody Clemmons and wife, Amber, of Mineola and Jonathan Fields of Edgewood; five great-grandchildren, Lane Fields, Everlee Fields, Mason Clemmons, Carter Fields and Jaxon Fields; and numerous nieces and nephews.
