District earns top marks from TEA

Posted in:

The Wills Point ISD recently received notification that it has been awarded an ‘A’ rating for ‘Superior Achievement’ from the Texas Education Agency for the Financial Integrity Rating System in Texas (FIRST).

The Superior Achievement rating is the highest rating possible in the FIRST program, meaning that Wills Point ISD has exceeded all district financial expectations.

The primary goal of School FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts’ financial resources; a plan made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system.

“This is another outstanding accomplishment for the Wills Point ISD Board of Trustees and the administration team with Wills Point ISD,” said Wills Point ISD superintendent Dr. Scott Caloss.

“This rating shows that our district is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars and is accountable not only for student learning but also for achieving these results cost-effectively and efficiently.”
