Calhoun Named 3A Player Of The Year

Photo By Donna Limberger Jermie Calhoun signed a letter of intent to play football at the University of Oklahoma on National Signing Day. Shown with Calhoun is head Van football coach and athletic director, Brady Pennington.

At a ceremony at Texas Stadium, Van senior Jermie Calhoun was honored as the Class 3A Built Ford Tough/Dallas Cowboys Texas High School Football Players of the Year.

Other recipients of the award were, for the 5A classification, Marcus Wright, runningback from Reagan High School in San Antonio. The 4A winner was Jacquizz Rodgers, runningback from Lamar Consolidated. Garrett Riley, a quarterback from Muleshoe High School was the 2A recipient. Steve Urbanczyk, a quarterback for Munday High School won the 1A Player of the Year.
